Tsang King-lun, aged 19, is a CDF participant studying in Secondary 4 at the Hong Kong Sea School. His dream is to become the captain of an ocean-going vessel. King-lun has been fond of the sea and water activities since he was a small child. Last year, he had unsatisfactory results in examinations and his family members were not with him which made him once feeling at a loss, and even doubt whether he is suitable to pursue the maritime career. It was lucky for him to have the advice and encouragement from his mentor in the CDF project at that time so that he could drum up his courage to face the problems and repeat Secondary 4.
This was the first time for King-lun to travel on a cruise and he even had the opportunity to enter the captain's cabin and have a face-to-face conversation with the captain. King-lun was in high spirits and felt very excited. The captain shared his personal experience with him, deepening his understanding of the maritime profession. Now King-lun has identified his development direction and is determined to move towards the realisation of his dream.
