To mark its 10th anniversary, the Hong Kong Police College held an open day for the first time on 10 January 2016. A group of CDF participants and their families were invited to the dress rehearsal taken place on 9 January 2016, which featured demonstration by the Force Escort Group, footdrill, performances of the Police Dog Unit and the Police Band, and an air-ground rescue demonstration by the SDU (popularly known as the Flying Tiger Squad).

Participant of Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service's "Step Up 5 — Life Guiding" project (Kowloon City and Yau Tsim Mong The visit to the Hong Kong Police College gave me a wonderful and unforgettable experience. The Police Force is responsible for combating crime and maintaining law and order in society. The visit has helped me know more about the organisation, history and training of the police. I now understand that police officers need to be strong, agile, courageous and intelligent, and must be able to keep calm under any circumstances. I must work harder to better prepare myself for future challenges. I would like to thank the organiser for making the visit possible. |

Participant of Christian Action's "IM-possible" project (Yuen Long) To me, SDU's demonstration was the most impressive programme on the Police College Open Day. It was spectacular and stunning. Through the visit, I have learned more about the training of the Police Force and realised that police officers have to go through rigorous training before they can carry out their duties to serve the community. This is a truly meaningful job. |
