Positive Responses Fuel the Drive to Carry on

Since the establishment of the CDF, Lau Ming-fai, Anthony has mentored 12 participants under 10 projects. Many doubt whether it is worthwhile to spend so much time on volunteer work. Anthony, however, believes that the positive responses from mentees have driven him to carry on. Taking his mentee Tang Hoi-kin, Eric as an example. Eric, who was not keen on their mentor-mentee relationship from the beginning, finally took the initiative to discuss his study options with Anthony during the last year of the project. Anthony considers this a reward for him as a mentor.
Anthony said, “I was once told by a university professor that one will never want to quit after a whole year of devotion to youth development. This is so true.”
